Fujian shows off its tea growing mountain at World Expo

Mount Wuyi scenery Mount Wuyi (武夷山) is located in northern Fujian (福建) province at the border with Jiangxi (江西) province. It is famous for many reasons: its unique landscape, its historical sites, and the famous tea varieties produced there. Both Wuyi Yancha (武夷岩茶) and Zhengshan Xiaozhong (正山小种) originate from there. The mountain is the pride of Fujian, which is a big tea producing province

When you visit Fujian’s virtual online pavilion from World Expo Shanghai 2010,  you get the possibility to enter a Mount Wuyi virtual scenery. There are six animated landscapes dedicated to tea, that the visitor can enter.

So far the English version isn’t online yet. You will need to visit the Chinese language site:

  • To visit the Fujian virtual pavilion, you need to go to the online expo website.
  • There, find the Chinese pavilion (in the zone A) and click on “enter”
  • Choose Fujian from the list of regional pavilions. Load the Chinese version. Once it is loaded, hover on the green arrow on the right and click on the lowest of the two links.
  • Once you are in the Fujian pavilion click on the small mountain scenery at the bottom right corner of the screen.
